Tufting can beat a common piece of furniture for a luxurious piece of upholstered furniture. The process tufting consists of threading embroidery dental floss and a large needle through layers of fabric and foam platter to create a pulled cluster effect. The embroidery floss is then held in place by a knot or a button. Tufting is common on headboards, ottomans, chairs, sofas and even memo boards. It is a decorative craft that has been practiced for centuries, especially among the French. But can also be created by all with just a few materials. A tall tufted headboard can decorate a bed, as well as add color or a bold statement piece to any room. The process of tufting a headboard starts by cutting a piece of plywood to a desired headline size.

And then drilling holes in the plywood where you plan to create totes. Typically, a pattern of six to eight totes is created on a headboard. The front of the plywood is then covered with spray glue and foam plate wadding. Fabric is tightly wrapped around the headboard and stapled on the back with a staple gun. Tufts are a sewing needle and dental floss is pulled through each of the drilled holes on the back of the headboard. These through the sheet and fabric and out on the front of the headboard. Dental floss then pulled through a button and back through to the back of the headboard, where it is tightly hinged. A tall tufted bed is another way to describe a Gothic arch. The upper part of the arch is pointed and each side curves rear from the point.

Gothic arches can be seen in Gothic architecture, as in churches or ancient castles. Creating a Gothic arched top by a headboard is not difficult. Just draw a medium density fiberboard (MDF) design. Cut the shape and then cover it with a fabric of your choice. Hang your extra tall upholstered headboard on the wall using flush-mounted wall studs. Draw a horizontal line level on the wall where you want to mount your headboard. Find posts along that line with a beam detector. Screw the wall part of the slats to the wall studs with long screws. Draw a horizontal level line on the back of the header. Measure and mount your fixing systems that look down on the back of the headboard. Slide the headboard over the wall at the location of the staple to close the staples in place.
