And then, slide the two divider pieces between the top and bottom pieces. Space them 14 inches on either side to create three equal compartments. Secure the dividers instead by hammering nails through the top and bottom pieces at the ends of the dividers, spacing the nails every 4 inches along the dividers. And also, place the piece of plywood against the back of the bench. Since the construction is symmetrical, the back can be either side. Choose the side that looks the best built. Nail a finishing nail through the plywood into the side pieces, top, bottom and end dividers. Space the nails every 6 inches.
Paint or dye the bank built in the color you want. Let the paint or stain dry overnight. Insert a 13 by 13 by 10 inch canvas tray into each of the three compartments on the bench. Adjust the measurements as desired to create a larger or smaller bank. Also, adjust the measurements if containers of different dimensions are used. You do it be carefully.
